It's kind of annoying having to post through email, but hostel LAN
sucks that way. Not to mention I can't access Neptune's Pride either.

I was originally going to type some long rambling stuff here, but I
completely forgot what I wanted to type, so never mind.

...which means I have no idea what I'm going to type here. So off I go
to not sleep yet. Yeah, I know I'm not making sense.

And I thought I had gotten over posting emo shit here. Apparently I haven't.

I dunno, I'm probably likely to start writing here again soon. I'll
eventually run out of things to do during study time, and this is
actually pretty cathartic. Especially since I don't think anyone reads
it anymore.

In other words, except lots more random emo crap, especially since I'm
feeling rather crappy right now. Emotionally, that is.

And hey, at least I waited until today to start venting here. I
thankfully had enough sense not to post the disjointed rambling I
typed on Wednesday. Protip: anything you type out while feeling like
an emotional wreck at 2am, especially if it's just rambling to
yourself, especially if half of it is in all caps and the other half
has no caps at all, does not a legible post make.

Anyway, yeah. Shit happened. It wasn't anything big, but I still feel
like crap over it. Even though it's all blown over by now.

...and it's Valentine's soon. Possibly it's just recent events
affecting me, but I find my thoughts returning to things I really
thought I'd gotten over. Hm.

Anyway. I'm kind of content now, I guess. Life's been pretty awesome
so far, and I don't really have any issues other than that I never
thought so much free time could be a problem. Or that it could be so
boring. Someday, I'm probably going to end up in trouble for trying to
do "interesting" stuff.

...I don't know, it just feels so calm and peaceful and nice and
boring. Which is all right, but boring.

Time to end this post and go play some more Skyrim. Although even
Skyrim is starting to bore me.

It's amazing what you can get away with in study time. So long as you have some sort of wordy document open, or are typing something out, they don't bother looking closer.

In other words, for those like me who enjoy text-based games and writing/reading fiction, it's actually kind of easy to get away with all sorts of stuff.

Like writing this post, for example.

Admittedly, I usually just continue working on my entry for Beyond Words, which is at least somewhat productive. In a fun side project kind of way. Even so, I need to stop doing things like writing this post/messing with PHP/messing with Java/random not-really-school-related stuff, and get back to writing it.

On a side note, it's amazing how many cliches I can justify putting into it with the excuse of "I'm writing YA. It's supposed to sell, not be a classic." On one hand, I want to write a mindscrewy piece full of subtle red herrings and plot hints, but on the other hand, there's no way that will win, so I've gone all the way around and started writing crappy cliched teenage romance fiction with a hint of fantasy instead. Or something.

Anyway, back to actually writing it instead of this.

Somehow, I still fall asleep in class. Which didn't happen before. Now if it's not Math I'm sleeping in, then it's Physics.

Also, tengwar is really pretty. Plus it's relatively easy to learn. I might start using it when writing personal stuff and such.

Finally felt like writing something, so I'm just going to dump it here.

So, not a proper update per se.

You carefully peek into the classroom. It seems to be empty. On one of the tables, there is an open laptop.

You try the door. It is locked.

You take the key from your pocket and try it on the lock. There is a faint click, then the door swings open.

You enter the classroom.

On one of the tables, there is a laptop. It is open. Next to it is a black phone. There is nothing else of interest in the classroom.

The login screen is displayed on the laptop.

You do not know the password. You hear the door creak slightly.

As you are staring at the laptop screen, you hear footsteps behind you. Before you can turn around, you feel a sharp pain in your back, and you find yourself lying on the floor. You can vaguely see a man with a black jacket standing over you.

"Can't have you finding out what I'm planning for your graduation ceremony after all, can I?"

6am. And I'm still at aforementioned lounge, and getting very bored. Even the Internet can only entertain you so much when you can't download or save anything.

Have a crappy piece of fiction I wrote in half an hour instead.

- once more, with feeling -

The first time, I don’t even see it.

It’s only when people start screaming, and the teachers begin running out of their classrooms, that I realise something’s wrong at all.

It doesn’t register, even when I see the body lying there in a pool of blood. It doesn’t register, even when I stare into her sightless eyes and someone tries to pull me away.

It’s only when I check my phone, and see her last message, that it begins to sink in. I read it again, then again, then again.

Slowly, quietly, I begin to cry.

The second time, I can’t find her.

I run through the school, looking for her. She’s not in class, but there’s still any number of places she could be at. Somewhere high, I know, but where? Where?

And then I remember the fire escape, and it takes me nearly five minutes to remember how to break in.

And when I finally manage to find the door, I open it just in time to see her fall.

I don’t remember screaming, but when I run to the edge and stare down at her body, my throat is raw. I quickly pull my head back to avoid being seen, and as I lean against the cool wall, I again feel something wet spilling out of my eyes.

The third time, I barely make it.

I run up to the fire escape the moment I can, and as I open the door, I see her standing at the edge.

I shout, and she turns, and--

She steps backwards, mouthing something, and I lunge for her.

Our fingers brush, just for that slight moment before gravity takes hold and she is pulled away. I don’t want to see her fall, so I draw back.

There’re voices outside, approaching, but I don’t really care.

I continue leaning against the wall, staring at where she was standing. Somehow, it bothers me that I’m not crying.

The fourth time, it’s the same.

I miss her hand, and again she falls.

Again, I wonder why I’m not crying.

The fifth time, it happens again.

It’s as if this was fated.

The sixth time, I’m too slow.

She falls before I can even open the door.

The seventh time, I don’t bother.

It hurts, but I pretend otherwise.

I’ve forgotten how many times it’s been already.

This time, I go through the motion of going up there once more.

This time, I see her standing at the edge, and she sees me watching.

Airport lounges are both boring and awesome. Awesome in that they have free food, and a lot of it. Boring in that there's nothing but said food, tables and a few computers. Which is what I'm typing this from.

It's 5.30am or so. My brain seems unable to decide whether it ought to be sleepy or excited, especially given the grand total of zero hours of sleep it got last night. No thanks to Minecraft, especially multiplayer.

On another note, soda water by itself tastes weird. And they serve wine here, which I would go for if people weren't likely to stop me.

A (very crappy) edit of the Chaos Head sound menu from source images. Pity desktop backgrounds don't support animated .gif, else I'd have made the Mindorz (...wtf is with that name) login sequence.

I still have no idea why I made this. Other than that I wanted a new desktop background. And only after finishing did I realise that using this might not be the best idea ever, at least in school.

Now tempted to edit my blogskin to look like the (fake) imageboard featured in Chaos Head, but it doesn't look as nice. >.<
Plus the brick texture background makes it hard.

(click) (btw it's a kink meme, but SFW) The best thing I've read all day. That includes going to the Popular Expo sale and getting 10 new books for $10 - or as someone said before, practically free. Not the best selection of books ever, but hey, not going to complain.

Though the rest of the sale was messy and had nothing worth getting. The $10 section being really messy is perfectly understandable (messy, yes, but they're books, at least be nice to them and don't crease the cover like 30% of them have already been), but why is the still-overpriced section just as messy, when there are actually shelves?

And it was small. 1/4 of a hall, or something. With roughly 1/4 of that already small space taken up by random toys. *sigh*

I should really get around to finishing up the various pieces of writing I have lying around. Except that both the Plot and Writing Bunnies are on vacation now. While the Snark Bunny gets free rein.

Unfortunately, the computer won't turn on. You try the other computers. They don't seem to work either.

Nothing seems to have been disturbed while you were wandering. Your research papers and belongings are all still there and intact, but the computers here do not work either. There is no sign that your research partner has been back here either.

You walk out of the lab and shut the door.

The first time was a complete disaster.

Again he was summoned; again he followed as Lancer killed the boy and Rin revived him and Saber was summoned. And as he neared Shirou’s house, Kanshou and Bakuya at the ready, he saw Lancer fleeing and--

He thought he heard Shirou shout something, thought he could hear Saber’s faint reply, but he had already found himself impaled on Caliburn and as he met Rin’s eyes apologetically, the final thought that entered his mind was: Well, that was fast.

The second time, he was careful, his Mind’s Eye allowing him to barely dodge the brunt of Saber’s blow. He stayed in Rin’s mansion, resting, till Shirou got himself kidnapped and Saber insisted on going to find him.

And then despite his protests, Rin insisted, and he found himself facing Berserker alone while the other three fled. He could have easily escaped then, but the emotions he thought Counter Guardianship had long crushed returned and left him trying to save Ilya.

As he stood in his Reality Marble, Berserker roaring and flying at him, he had the sudden, ironic thought that at least this Shirou would have to experience the same.

He really should have known better the third time.

His betrayal of Rin went as planned - though it hurt, to see her so deject - and he had Saber, if not healthy, then at least alive. He still kept watch over Shirou’s house, checking on Rin, though watching her have sex with Shirou was among the most painful experiences he had ever undergone.

And then he let his guard down for one night, and the next morning, Kuzuki was telling them about how he had disposed of the two the night before. Suddenly, there were no obstacles left, but even as he watched Kuzuki and Caster destroy themselves against Gilgamesh, even as he quickly killed the weakened king, the same way he had killed Lancer just a while before, his victory suddenly seemed hollow.

He stood in front of the Holy Grail that was Shinji, and wished for his existence as a Counter Guardian to end. It didn’t happen, and he found himself back in the Throne of Heroes, dreaming of his Master, barely noticing as the world tore itself apart.

The fourth time, nothing went the way it was supposed to.

He watched as the playing field changed, the issue of Sakura derailing his original plans. He stood aside as Sakura absorbed the Servants one by one, waiting for the chance that didn’t seem like it would ever come.

But then Shirou let Sakura die, and Rin and Ilya were suddenly in danger. He fled with Rin, then went back for Ilya, and when he returned to the Tohsaka mansion, Shirou was standing over his Master, projected Noble Phantasms poised to fall.

And even though he was faster, even though Bakuya severed Shirou’s spinal cord before the boy could even turn, Rin screamed. And when Shirou collapsed, blood dripping onto her, she only stared, unfocused, into his blank eyes.

They won, but as he brought the Grail to Rin, and laid Ilya’s fevered body in front of her, she only cowered away, staring at the materialized Grail as though it were pure poison. And then she touched it, and everything stopped.

(STOPREWIND)

This time, he swore, it would go right.

And so he stood outside the church, Shirou’s lifeless body at his feet. Cautiously, he prodded it.

Nothing.

Sighing, he turned to consider the church entrance. Well, he hadn’t exactly expected it to work anyway. Now, he could either try and find some other way to end this, or go back inside and help Rin...

He projected Rule Breaker, stabbed himself with it, and resignedly turned towards the church doors.

Yeah, technically it's still Day 1. But who cares?

Day Two: Nine things about yourself.

1. I haven't touched an actual piano for at least a year.

2. I have at least 4 throwaway email accounts. 2 of which aren't even passworded.

3. My room is perpetually so messy that, to quote Leyi, "we'll have to use Byakugan to see through the piles of stuff".

4. There's a bunch of fake sunflowers sitting next to me right now. Hey that was random.

5. I can touch-type, but keep looking at the keyboard out of habit anyway.

6. I am a tsundere.

7. I have a long-running (at least 3 years) multi-fandom-crossover plotline running in my head, the sole purpose of which is to feature a Gary Stu as the main character. Needless to say, it has not and will never see the light of being written down.

8. I have a tendency to mentally narrate my actions and stuff happening around me as if it were a story.

9. There is a portion of my mind which seems dedicated to making sarcastic remarks, spotting grammar mistakes and generally acting snarky no matter the situation. Usually I'm actively ignoring it, but when I'm sleepy...

Now maybe 1/4 through a 13-crane renzuru (the 12 cranes in a ring + 1 large crane in the center version), which took up most of Chem. Then I switched to making really small 4-crane renzuru during Math. Folding something that small without tearing(1 renzuru crane = 1/4 normal crane, and those are small enough) was a complete bitch, but it looks kinda pretty. Though maybe I shouldn't have used yellow.

Hm. 2hrs of break left thanks to English teacher having poof-ed. Should I play Minecraft, Nethack, GS3 or write? ~~Or actually do homework?~~

...meh. I'm going for lunch.

Was just rereading my earlier blogposts. Earlier being early-2010-ish. Strange, reading and realising how much I've changed since then. Only a year, but it feels like so long ago.

For example, I've definitely gotten much more cynical. Ironic, considering that my mentor told me last year that I was already too cynical, and I should read some inspiring self-help books... which I did, but then the inner cynic started snarking at and attempting to spork the book.

Rereading those also made me realise that I had started absorbing Jun Yup's style during that period. Thankfully, that stopped.

But the point of this post wasn't to start getting introspective/nostalgic, so I shall just skip to the... not-quite-point? Well, close enough.
The point being, this blog is getting weirder and weirder, so I am going to attempt to un-weird-ify it by posting longer posts.

...yeah.

Had Physics first today. Kinda stopped listening after the first hour and was folding cranes throughout, but still managed to follow the lesson thanks to having read the notes beforehand. Yay.

Then we were released early. And then I went to bother 303 for a while, not very successfully. Then went to get breakfast/a very early lunch/brunch/whatever you call the meal you eat at 10pm.

Then Math. Which is still going rather slowly, and in which I folded 2 more cube roses and several more cranes. Bye bye green paper.

ACE, which was... not very productive, to say the least. A few class admin matters got settled, yadda yadda yadda, I folded more cranes. Again, released early.

Chinese. Doing the same O Level paper I did last year (and not too badly either) is a strange experience, to say the least. Except that I wasn't trying particularly hard for this one.

Then supposed-to-be-Da-Vinci. In which Isaac, Ahmad, Wee Thean, Khairul, Russell and I played Munchkin. And despite being the first to reach level 9, and managing to avoid getting completely screwed over by others (no mean feat when the only cards in your hand are those for screwing others over), and drawing better cards eventually, I semi-quit the game, and Ahmad won.

Then slacked in school for a long while more, before going home way later than I'd had planned.

And have a bit of fiction I wrote on the spur of the moment. (On a random note, I have realised that whenever I try to name my characters, 'Alex' and 'Jacen' are the names that instantly pop up in my mind. FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUU--)

So unbelievable, in fact, that you begin to wonder if the game can really live up to all this hype. Only one way to find out, you think. Shrugging mentally, you click on the Start button.

You wake.

Nothing wakes you, no sound, no change in lighting, and still you wake. You blink a few times and slide out of bed, the familiar features of your room greeting you. As always, your eyes settle on the black ribbon on the bedside table, frayed and beginning to lose its colour. You reach out, intending to restore it, but then hesitate and withdraw your arm, as you do every morning.

As usual, you walk to the window, pulling open the blinds to gaze at the waking land outside. The people have not woken just yet, but they will soon; the punishment for lateness is severe. As it is for nearly everything else. As it should be.

You open the window and lean out, reveling in the sounds of bustling activity as they drift up to you. The air is refreshing, the gentle breeze cooling your cheek...

And, as if from afar, she sees herself grab her knives, see her finger close around the hilts without her having any control over them, and she screams, wants to scream, but cannot.

She watches helplessly as the demon moves her limbs easily, giving her a grace she would never have had naturally. The first to fall is Damian - he moves, almost faster than her, throwing his heavy blade in the path of her falling knives. But the demon was feinting, and now it moves, easily slipping past his defense and sliding her knife into his stomach. It comes away coated with dark red fluid, and locked away in her own mind, she screams.

The next is Sonia, as she sees Damian topple and catches him, already weaving the words of a spell even as she lowers him gently down. The demon flinches just slightly then, a reflex action as a huge fireball threatens to swallow it - to swallow her - up. The demon merely gestures, and she senses his energy, his concentration, being funneled into countering the spell.

This leaves her an opening, and she takes it, throwing herself against the walls of her mental prison until the demon's weakened concentration gives way and she manages to retake control of her body. She tries to run, tries to stab herself, anything to get herself and the demon away where it cannot hurt her friends.

But then she senses the demon returning, a cold darkness swirling around the edges of her mind and threatening to incapacitate her again.

Numb...

No, she has to fight! Forcing the demon out of her body once again, she looks up, locking eyes with Alex. As always, the confusion of emotions that comes with seeing him play across her mind, leaving her vulnerable, and she can sense it returning, that darkness that invades her mind and locks her away. She stares at Alex, his dark blue eyes mirroring the despair in hers, and she opens her mouth.

"Alex..." she manages, the cold already seeping into her thoughts, leaving them sluggish, unresponsive. "Ru... n..."

And then she knows she has lost, is forced to watch as the demon summons a sphere of energy around him and releases it in a single shockwave. She sees Sonia, sheltering Damian from the wave, knowing that she cannot outrun it, sees Alex, his arms thrown up in front of him, light surrounding him - or maybe that was just her eyes, because the shockwave moves outwards blindingly, and when it finally dissipates, all that she can see is smooth, flat rock.

Her hair has come undone, and as she stares at the blankness surrounding her, the ribbon that tied it back loosens and flutters to the floor

You blink, realising that you have once again allowed yourself to get lost in your memories. Still, introspection might not be a bad thing, and you move back to the bed, collapsing backwards on it and staring up at the ceiling.

ah screw this i can't think of anything else to write i'll continue tomorrow or something.

I haven't done anything but write since the holidays started.
What is it about total boredom that makes the plot bunnies breed? (Or in my case, the plot-idea bunnies, since the prose bunnies seem to have found another warren. Which is also why my attempts at getting something out for NaNoWriMo is failing miserably.)

Speaking of which, I have a cold. And a sore throat. *is feeling miserable*

I want to climb a tree. But there aren't any climbable ones around here.

Normally, my response to most large flamey internet conflicts would be go find a box of imaginary popcorn, an imaginary vantage point and watch.

But, well, the FF.Net and RedBooton issue is starting to get really ridiculous. And annoying.
Fine, delete MA stories, they weren't exactly allowed in the first place (although you'd think that FF.Net would've just not created the M rating at all, since said rating is, well, disallowed, and yes, I know they'd just spill over to the T rating like before, so why not just allow those stories already? It's not like people are going to stop posting them, or the mods are actually going to get better at their job, or the rating doesn't exist already, and I'm ranting).
But deleting slash stories, regardless of explicitness, just because they are slash?
And the entire filtering is based mostly on botting the fic and checking it against a list of words that "only appear in erotic fiction".
Um... whut? I'm sure 99% of the words on that list can, in fact, appear in a different context, and probably already have.

I could go on about how the entire profile of the creator reeks of elitism, but I think I'll save that rant for some other day.

Time to go comb LJ and hope the fic I wanted to re-read was mirrored there.

P.S. The Malazan Book Of The Fallen is now the most mindscrewey thing I've ever seen/watched/read. I mean, when the character list alone takes 6 pages (fine, technically 5 if you allow for formatting), and that's just 1 book (there are 10), then something's either very wrong or very interestingly good about your book. Thankfully, in this case it's mostly the latter.

At least, not if you actually plan on fighting Ghasts.
Had to repair most of a room (and nearly fell into the lava sea underneath) after I accidentally let a Ghast in.

But it still looks pretty.

Saw an epic floating spiral in Hell, couldn't build up to it, and decided to just recreate my own.
Still wondering if I should use glass for the walls. It'll be messy, given the sheer size and its tendency to attract Ghasts (though I've made sure they can't spawn inside), but pretty.

The bloody cobblestone is going to drive me crazy soon, though. But it makes good lighting.

On the not-Minecraft-related side of things:

No obvious seafood-ism yet, but the H-scene in UBW is really amusing.

Essentially, I was just watching the entire dream sequence from inside my body without being able to interact with it.

Still annoyed that I ended up kicking the wall and waking up.

Proven: Sleep is needed so as not to fall asleep during the afternoon.

Also proven: Minecraft is just way too addictive. I think I spent nearly 12hrs straight playing it.
And walked through this gargantuan natural cave that started at around sea level and eventually went deep enough to hit diamond and redstone. Oh, and included at least 4 instances of falling lava.

I opened Minecraft at 11.30, and hey, why's it suddenly 4am?
Seriously, Minecraft is turning into even more of a time waster than TV Tropes.

On the bright side, my new way of killing mobs is 'stand on floating platform and drop sand/gravel down until they suffocate'. It works as long as there're no skeletons, in which case I hastily retreat from the edge.
Managed to take down 6 creepers with this. Something that I still cannot manage with a sword. Yay~

I started this world yesterday, so it's not very big yet, but then again, I'll probably keep it small until after the Halloween update.
Suprisingly, I hit iron less than 5min after starting to mine. Then again, I walked into a rather large natural cave.

My base. Yay for floating structures! Should really deal with that oversized tree though.

The 'crouch at edge and drop sand/gravel until mob dies' platform. Directly above a crater which serves as a reminder not to get too close to the edge when dropping blocks or I may just fall directly onto a creeper.

Cactus farm! Still looking for reeds to add...

The hidden storage room~
With sections for food, cobblestone, dirt, sand and random stuff.

Entrance to said room. I like water+ladder-type underwater entrances a bit too much.

Added a wheat farm sometime after taking screenshots, and an infinite water spring (which, weirdly enough, still has water flow). Also managed to kill a spider, 2 skeletons and a zombie with the gravel drop, then hit the wrong block and found out that the area directly underneath was in fact made of floating sand. Luckily I wasn't standing on one of those blocks when I hit it.

Also nearly killed myself trying to block off lava flow in my mine, then remembered I had a bucket and bucketed the source. Now I have a bucket of lava sitting uselessly in my chest.

Also, do flowers actually do anything? Or are they just pretty decorations?

Also, and probably most importantly, I should be revising for exams instead.

I really don't think I'm going to sleep at all tonight. But then there's tomorrow morning, which includes History and Physics consecutively (read: borefest).

Started writing again. As expected, not writing fanfics is easier. Unless the fandom I'm writing for is just that badly characterized enough to give me free rein, in which case there's no reason why I'd actually like said fandom enough to write fanfic for it.

Today included our very interesting ACE lesson, which basically involved (click) this blogpost being shown to the whole class. Along with Mr Wong's comments about the rather interesting nature of the blog in question.
Then again, I think most people knew that already.

Today also included me crashing the Year 2 Da Vinci session, and somehow ending up guest-starring in their skit. The one we had to do last year and include the surprise quote 'Tomorrow will give us something new to think about.'
It was fun.

Today also included more whiteboard-vandalism (303's this time), with the Holy Cow and Holy Cheese and Holy Shit being drawn on the board.

Today also included me managing to fold a Renzuru after only 2 tries~
Well, so it was a simple 4-cranes one, but still.
On the first try, I pulled too hard while trying to fold, and accidentally ripped it into half. So now I have 2 pairs instead of 4 joined ones.
On the second try, I actually thought before tearing, and decided that folding all the lines before tearing the paper was probably better. And it worked~
Although the difficulty probably had something to do with the fact that I was using the already-quite-small pieces of paper. Which normally seems too big at times.

Today also included more stock lessons. Those aren't really worth talking about.

I mean the "sex scene" (read: CG dolphin swims around in sparkly water) in the Unlimited Blade Works movie.

There is probably something wrong with either that scene or the rest of the movie when after watching it, the only thing I can think about is at least dolphin > dragon.

Never mind that the movie had Archer being awesome.
Never mind that the movie was waaay too compressed.
Never mind that the movie has more plotholes than I care to count.
Never mind that the movie is mostly incomprehensible unless you've already finished the entire VN.

I seriously can't think of anything to type here.
Except I don't like leaving stuff abandoned (though I do it all the time anyway).

So this post shall be, as were the previous all-of-them or so, completely useless.

Completely natural.

So I was just wandering around lost, looking for high ground so I could see and find my lighthouse, and I instead stumbled onto this.

My first instinct was to press Print Screen. Which I did.
My second instinct was to shut the game immediately. Which I also did.

I also found a really large natural cave earlier, but that one was just cool.
Also, the diamond tools and obsidian in my inventory were hacked in. Yeah, I got bored. I am most definitely not pro or patient enough to get that much obsidian.
For that matter, I still have only 1 mined diamond. ;_;

I am officially very creeped out by Minecraft now. Story - titled How Curiosity Killed The Cat('s interest in Minecraft) here:

It all started innocently enough, with me browing the Minecraft forums. Perfectly innocent, right?

Then I came across a thread titled Video evidence of "him". "Him"? Did notch program a god-like figure into Minecraft as an Easter Egg or something? Curious, I clicked.

The first post contained a Youtube video. Wary of watching random videos, I scrolled further down to check the rest of the post. It simply told me to fast-forward to 2min from the end, and to watch the volume as the player's reactionary scream was rather loud.

Even warier, I scrolled further down. The next few posts simply wondered about the authenticity of the video, until yet another poster pointed out that it had been aired as a live stream. Slightly further down, someone brought up the possibility that it had simply been a reskin, and someone else commented that that skin did not exist in Minecraft.

Okay, something interesting was going on here. A Google search threw up nothing of relevance, so I simply read further. Eventually I began to throw together a rough picture of events. The OP had encountered someone, or something strange - on singleplayer, which meant that it couldn't have just been another player fooling around - and gotten scared by it.

Common sense , as well as my own fear of horror-related stuff, told me to stop here. Instead, I read on.

And then a few posts down, I found screencaps of OP's video (no, I will not link them). Very intrigued now, I began scouring the Minecraft forums for more information on this elusive "him".

That was when I found the original creepypasta. Suddenly the screencap I had seen began to seem distinctly freaky. Further hunting revealed the rest (Google it, I'm not explaining), and very much creeped out at that point, I quickly closed the pages, deciding that I wouldn't play Minecraft anymore for a while.

Two days later, I found the thread that confirmed it as a hoax - even so, it's creepiness factor still didn't decrease. And then I made the mistake of clicking (click) this link, and freaked out all over again.

I forgot to log in.
Thus I couldn't save the world I spent 2 days making.
Which wouldn't have mattered, until my internet lagged and died.
And I promptly lost all the data.

At least it's not Alpha. Because if I had to re-mine and re-farm and such in addition to rebuilding, I'd probably give up on it immediately.
As it is, I'm just going to try duplicating it in Alpha.

Oh yeah, screencaps of some of what I lost:

The first thing I built. Not much, but it's at least somewhat pretty.

The inside. The pattern on the ceiling is glass, for illumination.

The main entrance to my underground base - getting down is easy, but getting up is annoying.

The second thing I built! With glass flooring over a lava pool and, again, part of the ceiling made of glass.

The top-down view through the glass ceiling, just to show the sheer depth of the room. Note to self - magma flooring may look nice, but make sure there's an alternative light source nearby first. Digging and glassing that deep is not at all fun. Even if the end result is rather pretty.

Have a random underwater storage area.

Was planning to take more caps, but decided to finish up the underground base first. And then my internet died on me.

I did manage to make the roof of the magma library completely glass though. Which took really long, but looked really pretty.
And built another of those magma-water decoration rooms, but that one kind of failed when I accidentally erased a block and killed the magma.
There was also an underwater entrance, but it was hard to get to.
And random glass stacks floating in the sky, since I made a few to get as high as possible, then fell off and got lazy about removing them.

School tomorrow. PE first period. Wonderful.

I have just managed to discover what exactly, as well as how annoyingly addictive, Minecraft is.
In other words, I spent most of tonight playing it.
(although alpha still hates me, so i'm stuck with the laggy browser classic version. >.<)

Went for CIP yesterday. Nothing interesting, other than that I think we're going to be given 2 CIP hours even though half of that was actually spent sitting in the bus.

Reached school at 10:20-ish, talked with various people for a while, spent the next half-hour sitting on the bus, arrived at somewhere in Queenstown, spent the next hour playing with primary school kids (it involved straws and a ball)and watching Wanling's drawings become the centre of attention, got back on the bus, spent the next half-hour getting back to school.

Then realised that the reason there was food being catered was because it was SJPO, and so we decided to help ourselves. Then went home, and unsuprisingly fell asleep on the MRT.

And spent the rest of the day alternating between playing Cabal and reading TV Tropes.

Then spent today playing more Cabal, reading more of TV Tropes, and doing the OMG-you're-still-daoing-me-I'm-going-to-emo-on-my-blog-but-no-writing-it-like-this-sounds-stupid-and-melodramatic-delete-argh-maybe-I-shouldn't-post-it routine until I eventually gave up.

~My brain has returned to playing word association with itself. Normally that would be amusing and a good way to pass the time, but right now my brain just feels sluggish.

NOTE TO SELF: Never ever bite down on a clove of garlic again. Even if said clove just spent the last 5hrs boiling and is now a limp shred. It tastes really strong. And not in a good way.

In the end, it turned out not to be the piece of fluff I was expecting. That's not a good thing. (I think.)
It's also nowhere near as good as I would have liked, but meh.

"Stop!"

The panicked cry from behind causes Edward to pause and turn, hesitating, his arm-turned-blade barely a millimeter away from Greed's - no, from Ling's neck.

The strip of cloth that contained Ling's message gripped tightly in one hand, a knife in the (trembling) other, Lan Fan runs up to Edward, her mask askew and about to fall off, her hair dishevelled.

Ling, still pinned to the floor, turns his head to watch her arrive. "Oh? Another of your human friends?"

"Young Master, you're safe!" Breathing a sigh of relief, Lan Fan lets the cloth strip fall, fluttering to the ground next to Ling. "But the philosopher's stone..."

"Just let me deal with him, he's a homunculus!" Edward argues, his blade inching closer towards Ling's still-exposed neck.

Her eyes narrowing, Lan Fan engages Edward's arm-blade, twisting it away from its intended path of piercing Ling's throat.

"I'll not let you harm Young Master, no matter what."

"Lan Fan, he's a homunculus now! He was trying to kill me just a while ago!"

"I wouldn't actually have killed you, you know." Ling smirks, meeting Edward's glare with a smug gaze of his own. "Just maybe crippled you a little before bringing you to Father."

"Young Master!" Disraught, Lan Fan only just barely manages to deflect Edward's stab this time. "What... what about Xing?"

Ling opens his mouth to reply, for a moment seeming to go back to his old self, before the self-assured light returns to his eyes. "It'll be part of the world I rule."

Edward slashes downwards, intent on finally striking. Lan Fan jumps forward, catching his arm. Edward turns, manages to stop the blade from stabbing her, tries to push her away. Lan Fan draws her other knife--

Neither of them sees Greed's clawed arm rising swiftly behind Edward.

Pretty sure Lan Fan's characterization is very off, but I'm not a very big fan, and I'm lazy to go reference the manga... ^^
Edward is very off, but meh.

Right. I have maybe 5min more to type this before break-in-middle-of-Bio ends.

RANDOM OBSERVATION OF THE DAY: Drawing is a pretty good way of staying awake in Bio! ^^

Miscalculated last night, and got home almost 45min later than I'd planned to. Argh.

2ch is amusing. If taxing to understand. Although 4chan > 2chan > 2ch.

Lesson starting. Time to end this.

RANDOM OBSERVATION OF THE DAY: McDonalds' current Happy Meal toy series includes translucent red or blue plastic orbs that are supposed to be Rasengan and Chidori. I am distinctly amused.
(It also includes badly made Naruto and Sasuke figurines. If they're even worthy of being called figurines at all.)

Some things were just never meant to mix.

Note to self: next time I go there will be preferably at night. Or else late afternoon. With plenty of mosquito repellent. And long pants.

Then again, the thing about the-day-before-school-starts is that I always end up waking up as late as possible - preferably 12pm or so, which is hardly conducive to sleeping early enough that I can get up on time tomorrow.

Thus there is a relatively high chance that I will end up late for school tomorrow.

Oh, and one of the epic-est things I've read in a long time:
(aka, the not-quite-epitome of breaking the fourth wall. i love this story. and its author.)

“See, this here’s like a room. Roof, floor, and four walls. One-two-three-four, got it? Only this one here, this fourth wall? It’s not really here. You all pretend like it’s really here, but it’s not. I really don’t see why you people can’t understand that. It’s all fake, don’t you see? None of this—this here—none of it really exists. We’re all just figments of some fool’s imagination, forced to dance for the amusement of total strangers he barely knows and we shouldn’t even know exist. It’s a bloody travesty is what it is. Now you all think I’m crazy...maybe I am, but that’s not important!”

“Once upon a time...is a stupid way to start a story.”

If anyone besides the man who uttered the sentence would have been present upon the mountain’s side, perhaps they would have asked him why he chose to speak those exact words in such a place in the world. Perhaps he would have told them about story clichés and predictable adventure plots for over an hour, three minutes of which the listener would have actually cared about before attempting to tell him to just shut up, and failing to do so. However, as he was in fact the only sentient person present on that mountain’s side, his sentence went without rebuttal, forcing him to expound upon it by himself.

“I mean, seriously, can you get any more pathetic? I start a story like that, and right then I’m thinking, ‘Laaaaame.’ There’s no power behind it anymore.” He bent over to look at some old stone steps which had once built a solid staircase up the mountain, now little more than grown-over depressions and broken rocks in a barely-distinguishable path upwards. Picking up a small piece of debris from off the ground, he tossed it back and forth in his hands as he walked upwards, sometimes waving it around like a piece of chalk in front of a classroom.

In response, he dipped his hands into the water and pulled out a small chunk of newly-fashioned ice. Setting it on the ground, he pointed to it. “This…is a block of ice.” The block then rose a foot into the air. “This is me, levitating a block of ice.” Without hesitation he jumped onto the block, which remained as solid as if it was held by steel beams. He pointed to it once more. “This is me, levitating myself, via a block of ice.” Satisfied with his explanation, he pulled another few streams of icy water out of the lake and around his legs, creating a very solid pair of frozen boots which he then used to walk upon thin air with.

“And this is me, levitating me, wearing cool boots, flying away, like a block of ice. If you don’t believe me, too bad, because I’m not planning on explaining it again.”
